5/07/15 – The Month of Elemental Evil: Water Week

Today was the last day of the Month of Elemental Evil, which ended with Water Week. We had +2 Loot, +50% Challenge Rewards, and Double Daily Dice XP. I didn’t run any challenges, so didn’t take advantage of that, but I did remember to roll my daily and weekly dice. All that XP belongs to MaaraJaade, who is now level 18. She’s slowly but surely getting back to epics.

A couple of friends and I decided to take advantage of the +2 loot. We each also used a jewel of fortune, to increase even more our chances of getting great loot. Do these things really work? I had terrible pulls in every quest we did, from TOEE to TOR to HH to the City of Portals chain in Sschindylryn. It really felt like I had a -2 loot week. 🙂

This week, the Damsels finished up the Menace of the Underdark: The Darkening chain. It would have been good if one of us knew where the quests are in The King’s Forest. We meandered around until things sort of looked familiar. When we stumbled upon the Eveningstar Outpost, I was a little surprised. I thought we were headed to The Lost Thread. 🙂

Just for fun, we decided to roll dice to see if we’d run the quests on hard or elite. We did The Unquiet Graves and The Lost Thread on hard. Neither posed much of a problem, except for when Garrett killed the slaves in the latter. When you want him to help fight, he stands around doing nothing. When you want him to do nothing, he kills those we want to save. Go figure.

Lessah rolled a 3 for The Battle for Eveningstar, which means we did it on elite. What fun! No, seriously. It was fun, fun, fun. We made our way through each area, eventually pulling slowly so we wouldn’t get swarmed. We started feeling pretty good, the end boss was slivered, when things went horribly, horribly wrong. I totally forgot reinforcements would arrive and before we knew it, ding, ding, ding. Three dead Damsels.

Luckily, the shrine is right outside the last fight area. We each rezzed when we could. I did my usual rogue thing and snuck off to a corner so I could heal myself. Safely ensconced in a burned out building, I took my time healing up. The next thing I hear was ‘clank, clank, clank.’ I look up to see Lessah sneaking over to me. Well, she was crouched in the sneaking position but she fooled no one. Driders swarmed her and, while swinging at her, they hit me and ding, I was dead again. After mocking Lessah for her sneaking ability, we regrouped (ok, some of us died a couple of more times) and went to finish the quest.

I’m trying to convince Lessah and Mythery to do most, if not all quests, on elite. It’s a challenge, but so much fun.

See you next time!
