Damsels of DDO Episode 128, Epic Partycrashers

The Damsels are three lady gamers who talk about things that are important to them in the world of gaming, especially Dungeons and Dragons Online. What’s better than a party? NOTHING! The Damsels had dinner and a show when they went to House Phiarlan and did Partycrashers. Where the Dirty Kobolds are always shaken and not stirred. Thanks so much for listening!

Lessah jibberjabbers about things and Myth corrects and Sahba sleeps

  • Who needs the Full Plate of the Ringleader anyway? I am officially giving up. I probably wouldn’t wear it anyway.
    • I got a new player into DDO. A quote from him “I am just here for the free stuff.”
  • What we learned:
      • Lessah:  Poultry isn’t pork?
      • Myth: I get to go to the dentist again. 🙂
      • Sahba: I’m moving back to Eastern time.

Rumors, News, and Lies

  • Before we start!  Spoiler!!!
  • Guess who no longer has cable?
    • What apps do you do?

Party in House P

We produced a play! Rave reviews, so professionally performed, coming to your neighborhood soon! I guess we did almost all of the optionals in party poopers except the one called “I’m not ready to come out of the closet so go away or I’ll bite your head off.” Lessah doesn’t like that one because she thinks we shouldn’t force someone out of the closet, even if they are a big scary demon. There are a ton of optionals in this quest and we did do most of them but I don’t exactly know the separation between all of them and the actual quest. I was going to look that up on the wiki so I could talk about just the optionals here BUT the ads on the WIKI are out of control. Seriously! They are covering the content. Two ads on the party crashers page covered almost the entire page. And when I closed them there was just a big white splotch there in their place, so I still couldn’t see the page. What the heck?? I closed the page and went back hoping maybe different/smaller ads would be there or something but no luck. Couldn’t look at that page. I think I (very sweetly) mentioned this a while back but no one listened and now it is much worse. DDO has such a nice wiki, it is a shame to have it ruined like this. There is no reason ads need to overlay page content. That’s all I have to say. For now.

Damsels of DDO Episode 127, Just Talking

The Damsels are three lady gamers who talk about things that are important to them in the world of gaming, especially Dungeons and Dragons Online. The world is ending or whatever so we might as well play games! The Damsels have been in quarantine from Epics and this play session was no exception.  How is this ten+ year old game still cranking out fun content? Let’s talk about it. Thanks so much for listening!

This week, the Damsels have a COMMERCIAL!

The sentient gem of the cowboy is REAL…fake.

 I want one!

Fierce Fred reported that he did not receive any Pit Restart manual. It may or may not have been a return mail from me. But still. Business is booming for that company. So remember, it pays to advertise. Congratulations to Stormreach Spiritual Relocation services, We put the “ED” in dead. Because Dead without the ED is just Da.

Intro:

The Damsels of DDO Recorded Live on Sunday, June 7th. This is our 127th show.

Lessah jibberjabbers about things and Myth corrects and Sahba sleeps

  • That time me and Myth tell everyone about our tabletop D&D character backstories

  • To Sahba, Do you set an alarm for….. (surprise question because Sahba is the worst at not waiting to react or answer until the live show)

  • What we learned:
      • Lessah:  I should have been a helicopter pilot and I wasn’t meant to have a pet hyena.
      • Myth: blah blah blah
      • Sahba: ???

Rumors, News, and Lies

    • So, what’d I miss?

  • Before we start!  Spoiler!!!

  • RuPaul’s Drag Race is the only reason I still have cable. That and HBO. But should I pull the plug on the cable? I get my news more often than not from PBS Newshour OR…. WION because I love how savage they are towards the rest of the world OR… Australia.
    • HBO Go worth it?
    • You can watch RuPaul’s Drag race on the VH1 App. In fact, I found Drag Race UK.
    • All-Stars started Friday night. Looks like it’s going to be good although there were a couple of girls from season 3 that I didn’t recognize. I did, however, recognize Ongina from season 1!

The Lost Gatekeepers

Here’s how I understand this, the Gatekeepers, who are these really old druids that hail from Khorvaire and are the protectors of Eberron decided they were interested in seeing what was going on in Xen’drik. So they put one of their “druid groves” in the harbor of our lovely Stormreach.

The Home of Memory

I guess the first thing that happened when they got here was someone got lost because the first guy we met, Thel Shattertusk, asked us to go to the Cerulean Hills and look for him. We went out there…I don’t think we actually found any lost people. I think we may have seen some things that, well…let’s just say that next, we went over to an abandoned mine.

Heart of the Problem

Some guy named Capstone said he was over here finding new old things or old new things. I’m not exactly sure but we went to see what he was talking about. Mostly what we found were things trying to kill us, like fire mephits and a big magma thing, plus there were some clay golems hanging around in there.

Rosemary’s Ballad

After we left the mine we ran into Lily Hargrove and I think but am not exactly sure that she wanted us to go to the garden behind her family’s farm. I suppose it is about time to admit that up to this point, in and around all of these places we have been going we have been seeing and hearing things. Like memories, these other people’s memories so things were a little weird. It took us a hot minute to find the way into the garden but there was a disembodied voice talking to us, lots of notes left around, and many op memories/visions to behold. In the end, we had to kill Sage Hargrove.

The Sacred Bounty

Next, we found ourselves in a run-down temple and I really don’t know what we were doing in there. It was pretty small but once we were in we couldn’t seem to get out without solving the puzzle in each room. Then there was a big Vine Horror blocking the exit of course. We’re out so there’s that. Did I mention that those crazy visions were in there too???

  • Other games

  • 7 Days to Die just keeps popping into our hearts. I have a little to no zombies game where I am building a… birdcage.

  •  Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon

      • What a great game! It is NOT a cakewalk. But it’s a great game to play with friends.
        • If you get seen by UNIDAD (the police in the game) you are Screwed. Where do they get their money/ support/ training? These guys are deadly. The thing to do if you live in this setting is work for them! These guys eat.

  • Subsistence

      • The graphics in this game look a ton better and now there is a map!
      • Fishing is a great way to survive until the river freezes over in winter.
        •  Fishing traps suck. They need work. They don’t augment your time in terms of taking time out of your day to fish because they rarely catch fish.
      • Animal traps are pretty cool, just don’t run out of bait. Also, check them each day on your route to look for supplies. The animals in them will eventually die.
      • It is so hard to survive. The struggle bus is real but not impossible. That sets this game apart from other survival crafting games like Green Hell.

  • Guild Wars 2

      • I forgot how fun and engaging this game is! There is so much to do and explore. I pay nothing to play this game. They reward me for logging in every day. The currency system is not broken. I have collected/ earned all of ten gold pieces in all my playtime.
        • For the most part, I rely on Karma and level rewards and LUCK to upgrade my gear. It has worked out well. I don’t have to worry about the next shiny thing that’s going to make me more powerful, I can just play and explore and not worry about it.
        • I can play alone and accidentally run into events with other players or I can play with friends and just fill up hearts by doing really dumb things.
          • Example: We went to a town where the goal was to participate in a tavern party. We got XP for it!
      • Again, this game was a one-time expense for me. If I had to choose if a subscription was required, (right now) I would leave DDO as a VIP. There is just too much that appeals to me. Example: I am a chef. I explore and pick wild veggies and kill animals for meat and make meals. The meals give me and my friends XP bonus and other buffs. I didn’t BUY that. I MADE it.

Damsels of DDO Episode 126, The Lost Gatekeepers

The Damsels are three lady gamers who talk about things that are important to them in the world of Dungeons and Dragons Online. Hey, remember that time our lives went pear-shaped? It’s like the entire world tried to use the teleport spell and ended up in space over the marketplace. Anyway, we ran some new quests for some reason! Let’s talk about plot holes that you can drive a truck through! Thanks so much for listening!

The Damsels of DDO Recorded Live on Sunday, May 10th. This is our 126th show.

Lessah jibberjabbers about things and Myth corrects and Sahba sleeps

  • I’ll bring the elephant into the room.
  • Soooooooo… that time the whole world sucked even though we were all at home.

    • The store is awkward. Lines to get in.
    • No standardized protocol for testing.
    • All I do now… touch my face.

  • What we learned:
      • Lessah:  You can make potatoes in like…a million different ways.
      • Myth:  I learned that Netflix needs to update my billing information, Apple needs me to change my password, and someone has a naked video of me and is going to send it to my whole contact list unless I pay them $3000! My life as I knew it is over and will never be the same. ::sob::
      • Sahba: Minecraft 10 installation sucks

I don’t know where to put this but the DDO wiki has ads that are about an ⅛ of a page size on top of the page so you can’t read what is there and when you click the close button it asks why you want to close it and gives 4 options, 1 of which is that it is covering the page and then thanks you after you click it. Google then tells you it has closed it and I suppose that is technically true because the ad is gone but a big blank white spot is left in its place which is still covering the page. Just thought I’d say something just on the off chance whoever controls such things might hear this and want to know. 😛

Rumors, News, and Lies

  • Question(s) of the show –
    • So, no GenCon?

  • Before we start!  Spoiler!!!

  • RuPaul’s Drag Race is back!!
    • We have a guest who is here to talk with us JUST about this!
    • Celebrity drag race.
      • AMAZING!
        • Favorite drag queens coming back as mentors. Bob and more Bob, Allyssa Edwards, Trixie Matel.
        • I gagged so hard over the host from American Gladiator.
    • This has been an amazing season! These girls can still be shady but you can tell that they genuinely like each other. Or at least don’t hate each other.
      • Jada Essence Hall is a clear front runner. Love Hedi, she’s a fan favorite.
      • Gigi Goode is going to be in the top three for sure.
      • I agree with you about Crystal. Burt and Ernie Drag.
      • Heidi is a big time FAN FAVORITE.
    • Who is your fav so far?
      • Everyone seems to be okay so far. I think my favs are Gigi, Jackie, Brita, and Widow. I haven’t made up my mind about Nicky yet. Not a fav but I can’t decide if she is mean or just uncomfortable. I like Crystal but her kind of drag is not my fav. I think she is VERY insecure and hiding behind all of those costumes. I’m pretty sure when she isn’t in drag she is hiding behind those giant glasses and has no idea what a hottie she (he) is.
    • Predictions
      • So, up there were my thoughts after the 2nd episode. This season has been so good it’s unfortunate that we didn’t get to talk about it after every couple of episodes. These queens are really pretty amazing this time. Final 3; Gigi Goode, Jackie Cox, and Jaida Essence Hall (I’m wavering between Jaida and Crystal). Winner: Jackie/Gigi???

  • Question(s) of the show –
    • So, GenCon going to happen this year??? Or is that too soon to ask?

  • Before we start!  Spoiler!!!

Before we start before we start I have a Yoplait rant. I’m not a huge fan of yogurt. I like it but the texture of regular yogurt is a little weird so if I‘m going to eat it I want greek yogurt. However, my husband eats it and likes to take it in his lunch. So I was looking at yogurt a few weeks ago and saw that yoplait has something called Starburst flavored yogurt. What!?! I must try this! So I buy some cherry Starburst flavored Yoplait and must tell you that this stuff is amazing!! If you like Starburst anyway. It tastes just like a cherry starburst and I’m going to have to stuff myself with it until the novelty wears off. Not much of a rant you say? Okay, so ever since I can remember seeing Yoplait in the stores it has come in this weird container. It had a small little round opening at the top about an inch and a half in diameter and gradually gets larger as it goes down to the bottom. The bottom is convex and sealed to the sides. If you can’t see my problem I will explain. 1. There isn’t a lot of room to maneuver the spoon around to scrape the cherry goodness from the sides. 2. The shape of the bottom and the way it is sealed to the sides coupled with the thickness and shape of the spoon make it impossible to get everything from the bottom of the container. Summary, tastes great, frustrating to eat! My real question is, why have they been making this terrible container for so many years??? Has no one ever complained before or are they just not listening? I don’t understand. By the way, the first person I bothered mentioning this to agreed with me. So I know I’m not the only one that feels this way.

  • RuPaul’s Drag Race is back!!
I’m pretty sure when she isn’t in drag she is hiding behind those giant glasses and had no idea what a hottie she (he) is.

Damsels of DDO Episode 123, The Admiral of Bling

The Damsels are three lady gamers who talk about things that are important to them in the world of Dungeons and Dragons Online. Epic Deleras Tomb? Are you kidding me? Epic Catacombs?! What could be better than that? JK, we are probably going to talk about zombie pirates and how the Admiral of Bling pirate hate is crazy cool. You don’t want to miss that! Thanks so much for listening!

This week, the Damsels are sponsored by the Silver Flame. Congregation numbers have been down lately and the Silver Flame is doing a big membership drive. So join today. Only a handful of scandals are under our belt. Not like those Sovereign Host guys. Or that Devourer. Come slay evil with us and we will allow you to purchase the Flametouched Iron weapon of your choice. Ask your Silver Flame representative today and they will explain everything. They are probably not possessed by a succubus or evil spirits.

      • Myth:  I hate ads that follow me around a page when I’m trying to read something!
      • Sahba: I may be going to Indy … but not for GenCon.

Rumors, News, and Lies

  • Update 45 – A very long list

      • Things I love about SBZ:
        • Marguerite (a really mean NPC)
        • Base building and painting things fun colors
      • Things I miss:
        • A sense of loss and isolation
        • In the original game, there was this feeling of urgency. Your character is dying of a disease that the planet is infected with. You are all alone and you have to find a cure. In this one, you aren’t really alone but Altera leaves you alone a lot. I wish they would guide me a bit more. Or at least have the decency to be in trouble.

Finding Dorris

So, back to Sharn we go, this was not objectionable to me. I rather like Sharn, with it’s pretty clean streets and fancy shops. As long as you stay out of the Cogs it’s a nice place to visit. So why, may I ask, why did we go straight to the docks when we got there??? We talked to someone named Quigley, who turned out to be the deputy harbormaster’s secretary’s assistant. Quigley said Dorris was missing and asked that we find her. For some reason we said we would. I mean, Dorris and I aren’t all that close. Seems to me she is always trying to get us into trouble and Sahba didn’t even remember who she was! The first time we met her she sent us into a fort full of psychotic minotaurs and the next time we saw her she talked us into helping break some friend of hers out of a crazy dangerous prison. Anyway here we are looking for her. So the first time we were in Sharn we met up with the evil Vaunt who had managed to lay his hands on evil device to do evil things with evil intent, evilly. Apparently some vile people got their paws on…let’s say an altered version. The altered version of this vile apparatus will cleave the soul from a warforge and turn them into docile, obedient, slaves. Starting on the docks with the package Dorris was supposed to have picked up, we collected 5 or 6 clues which allowed to move to the next section, the Cogs factory. This is where we found some sad soul split warforge. 🙁 I think they tried to kill us. Then we went to a place called the Money Pit, beat up a bunch of guys, found out where the trainer lived and went there. When we got there we eavesdropped on a conversation cuz that’s just fun but that made us get into a fight with the trainer. And let me tell you, that dude’s house is full of traps and he is too tough to be bothered by them. We kicked his butt anyway. Poor Dorris, she was there and so was the Lord of Blades. He is impressive looking, just sayin’. Yeah yeah we found her.

      • Story time: reading your party members the riot act in Prison of the Planes
    • How are you?
      • Mythery ::sob:: I died!!!! Why am I going first?ugh It was traumatizing. ::sniffle:: My tummy hurt, I almost cried, and I think I was close to tossing my cookies. The tummy ache didn’t go away for a long time. People were really nice about it though. A couple of people sent me tells saying they we really sorry. I don’t know if they were people I know or not, I didn’t recognize the names but it was super nice. It did make me feel a little better. Maybe not better about dying but just better in general. I really didn’t like that girl that much anyway since she was a tiefling. I think it was just that I had taken such good care of her, packed her in wool and cotton, as Lessah would say. But since she earned enough favor for me to make a drow I have re-rolled Mythery proper. She is much better now but she is only 9 at the moment.

Intro:

The Damsels of DDO Recorded Live on Monday, August 13th at the crack of midnight Eastern time. This is our 114th show.

Lessah jibberjabbers about things and Myth corrects and Sahba sleeps

      • So…did anyone else do anything interesting this week? How have you guys been?
      • I played the test server and I still have questions that I can’t find the answers to:
        • At the end of the Hardcore League, we will be providing free Character Transfers to everyone – alive or otherwise.

  • Lessah’s tips for survival in the hardcore league.

  • Your money is for your protection. Do not leave any loot in a chest. Sell what you can’t break down.

        • Resist pots/ protection pots/ heroism/ jump etc
          • Low-level collectibles that you don’t plan to craft with are to be turned in for heal-over-time potions, these can be used in conjunction with other buffs like Aid/ Virtue/ regular heal pots
              • Let’s say you have to run through a trap. You need every advantage you can get. And those pots will stack with the other collectors’ versions of them.

  • On the Subject of Gear:

        • Named loot in quests are not a secret. Know what you want and go after it.
          • If you know you need a feather falling item and haven’t found one yet, you know where the low-level items are. Go get one!
        • It is a waste of money to use the DDO Store here.
          • Get creative. Don’t ask me how many times I ran The Den of Kobold Brothers to find a Muck Bane. Use the tools available and figure out how to get what you need on the cheap. The rest is up to luck. I’d hate to see you spend a few hundred points on a character in XP pots and other things only to have that character die at level 12. Not worth it! The one exception to this is if you are planning a quest and need a rogue. 30 points on a rogue might be worth it here but you should have earned that much just by playing already.

  • Let’s talk about crafting.

        • My advice: Know what you want going in. DO YOUR RESEARCH so you know what to save in the way of collectibles.
            • Sell all the gear you aren’t going to use in Korthos to build a little capital for yourself and then start breaking down gear every 3rd quest or so when you get to Stormreach. You will get crafting XP and a little money each time you break things down. As soon as you have access to your bank, fill it and your inventory with stuff to break down.
              • Do the crafting tutorial before you go to break down your gear for the first time. This will give you a decent jump start in crafting levels and you as you will see by the planner, you need to be level 20-40 in crafting to make anything remotely sexy.
          • Yes you can and should do Cannith challenges at low levels.
            • You can get 20% miss chance bracers at level 3 “Bracers of the Wind” and it really isn’t difficult. (The challenges you need for this are very straightforward.) You are level 3 or 4 but so are the mobs.
          • LINK to my low-level guide to doing Kobold Chaos at level 4
          • LINK to the guide for getting through Dr. Rushmore’s mansion (You will do “Behind the Door” to get what you need.)
          • LINK placeholder for Lava Caves. Very easy and straightforward challenge.
            • Any gear you get can grow with you as you get “Older”

  • Let’s talk about getting older. (really torn about sharing this advice)

      • I get it, your a fledgling Hardcore player, your little body is going through changes but that doesn’t mean you need to keep putting yourself at risk. Here are the biggest mistakes I saw people making on the Hardcore Test Server:
        • Going too fast.
          • Don’t shy away from working through snowy Korthos and doing things at level. If you don’t develop your Hardcore Survival skills here, you are going to fall on your face when the training wheels come off. It’s ok to gather some gear and a few action points before you try to burn through Korthos on elite.
            • I should not have to talk about this, yet people are still out there eating Tide Pods. I get it. You are in a hurry. But do you know what’s more time consuming than running a quest twice? Starting over at level 1. This is Darwinism. If you play foolishly, the game will weed you out.
        • Lack of group communication
          • When the rogue says “trap” or stops and types “trap”. Don’t go further. Let them do their thing.
          • If you need a heal and your cleric isn’t with you, you are about to die.
        • Lack of self sufficiency
          • Be your own anchor. Have your own heal pots/ resist pots and whatever else you might need. If you are in a group, great. But it is not their job to look out for you. Watch out for number one. Think about every quest before you step in. What kind of mobs are there? What will the casters throw at you? Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance, right?
        • Overconfidence
          • This is going to be easy! I’ve run these quests a thousand times before! And then that person dies at level 4-5 the first time they see a Kobold Shaman casting lightning bolt. I have also seen a lot of players dying between 8-10 when their character starts to grow and get a little more hardy. These guys tend to bite off more than they can handle. All I can say is… THANK YOU for getting out of my way on the leaderboard!
            • If you are standing at a quest door and your clench factor of above seven. Step away. Do it on a lower difficulty. Come back to it later when you are bigger/ stronger. Or don’t. I’ll take your spot on the board. It’s fine.
        • Failure to dodge.
          • Not anticipating spells aimed at you and underestimating how hard a champion is going to hit you is a great way to get yourself killed. Do yourself a favor and get out of the way. Break line of sight so you can deal with the trash without interference from the archers. A little tactics go a long way.
            • The fight comes to you. Not the other way around if you can help it. Take away a named bosses minions and suddenly they become easier to deal with.
        • Know your role.
          • If you are squishy. Be Squishy. If you are made of glass and you throw the first punch, expect Darwinism to kick in and take care of you. Let the tank be the tank. It’s why you let them into the party.

Please stop asking me about static groups for this. I don’t plan on it at this point.  Good luck! Hope to see you out there!

Know what you want and pursue it ruthlessly until you get it or someone hands you a restraining order.  – Lessah, Passive-Aggressive Paladin

  • What we learned this week:
      • Lessah: I learned that I still got it.
        • I would say u can get 5k before hitting 20- said someone who is obviously delusional.
      • Myth: The elephants upstairs have moved on to new ground!!
      • Sahba: Syd’s next life is going to be an Alchemist!!!

Rumors, News, and Lies

  • Before we start!  Spoiler!!!

    • Travelers
    • Another Life
    • I’m ready! I watched Stranger Things.
    • The Boys is the show I never knew I wanted to see!

      • We need to get oculus tv for the living room. It’s free.

I suck I have nothing to talk about

  • Other games

  • 7DTD
    • Did I play? Yes but it was garage night, skipped (reaper babies), then last night.
    • Tunnel finished just need to pretty it up! Not sure I will ever find a nitrate mine. Might have to give up but at least we found a lead mine.
  • Tom Clancy Division 2
    • I am saving DC but it keeps getting in trouble.
      • Myth and Sahba made WT5. woohoo!
      • I went to the Zoo. It was hard. There were animals there.
  • I was looking at games and when I went to read the description of this one game this is what it said. Cancer is everyone’s business! Till 31st January 2019, 50% of revenues from all purchases for “In Between” will go directly to the Cancer Research Institute as donations, in order to support the battle against cancer.  That is very nice, providing it’s true and the game is only 12 bucks but what they want you to get is a bundle for over 250. Really what bugged me was how much I had to look for what the game was actually about. And even then it basically just said it was a puzzle game and boasted about the 25 songs in it. Huh? It wasn’t until I started reading the reviews that I found out what the game really was and even then… This was the first review I read. The liberal, subjective borderline emphasises and reactivates the collectivism. In order to re-consider this superficial conceptualisation and the signal of it’s performative and ornamental accumulation – which is de-centrally inconceivable – the art institution forces it’s poly-cultural thesis. The urbanistic continuity interweaves the boundary of occupancies. By the means of optionally circulated plots, a conclusion has been mystifyed marginally by transient membrane. The resonance to specify merges and demonstrates the integration. Really? This is a review? Some of these aren’t even complete sentences. And this person got the game for FREE! I read two more reviews where I found out that the game is about a man who has cancer and the game is about Elizabeth Kubler Ross’ On Death and Dying, 5 Stages of Grief. Hmm…maybe this is why they didn’t describe the game? Aren’t games supposed to be fun and happy or is it just me? I suppose it could be me, I had a strange week last week. Maybe I’m not straight yet. Anyway, this is when I went and finished up watching Stranger Things.

Damsels of DDO Episode 113, One Off Questing

The Damsels are three lady gamers who talk about things that are important to them in the world of Dungeons and Dragons Online. The Damsels recruited a bard this week to help out with a little one-off questing fun.  These are quests that stand alone as singular stories and may or may not fit in with a larger storyline or quest chain. It worked out great. Special thanks to Doug Glendower of Bard Life for coming along and making things easy! Thanks so much for listening!

Lessah jibberjabbers about things and Myth corrects and Sahba sleeps

    • I had an idea for Doug’s show that in lew of a fashion show he should Yelp Review hirelings he used that day. On a scale of 1 to 5 stars. Rate the following:
      • Did your hireling arrive on time?
      • Did your hireling stay with you throughout the adventure?

Damsels of DDO Episode 112, Masterminds of Sharn, Part 3

The Damsels are three lady gamers who talk about things that are important to them in the world of Dungeons and Dragons Online. The Damsels went to the Cogs this week for the first time. Things started out great until the ladies got separated and lost.  Things went pear-shaped from there but they finally found a couple of quests to do. Word to the wise, follow someone who knows where they are going. Also, don’t fall off the elevator. PARKOUR! Thanks so much for listening!

Lessah jibberjabbers about things and Myth corrects and Sahba sleeps

    • Before anything else happens, we need to talk about Bard Life with Doug Glendower.
      • Saturdays before Damsels and he does a fashion show!
        • I loved looking at shields!
        • This is great, I can start with a cocktail and catch the end of Doug’s show.
      • My static grp got cancelled for Canada day…
        • Is Canada Day a real thing? Isn’t every day Canada day when you have Justin?
    • My first experience with the Cogs was really positive because the quests were challenging but not overly hard to find. I thought they would have learned from putting Chains of Flame so far out into the desert that you just “Have to know” where it is to get there, that they wouldn’t do that again. Yet here we are with Let the lava flow quest that I’m not sure I ever want to do because of all my rage at being denied the quest door due to one mistake.
      • The COGS will punish you. At least in areas like Amarath, you can get to a quest even if you get lost or take a wrong turn. But a ten plus minute delay for falling off an elevator is where I draw the line.
    • What we learned this week:
      • Lessah: I learned that if you juice a gelatinous cube, it makes slimes. I was like: Shhh Shhhh Shhhhh Shhh, I have figured something out, drunk girl style.
      • Myth: Most traditional kilts are made of cashmere and cost between 800 and 2000 pounds! Cashmere, yummy mmmmm
      • Sahba: DDO puts things on sale After we need them.  Or in this case, gives them away free.

        • I will say the Black Tusks make the True Sons look like kindergarteners.
          • However! I was offered sexy time by one of the True Sons, so we need to figure a way of dragging that one back to the clan hall.

      • I am looking forward to the 1st episode and the third episode
        • Season Pass? Worth it? When did the year start?
    • Looks like the populace playing Division 2 doesn’t think much of using fire (although one lone person did say they thought is was “the best CC we have access to but the damage is pretty lackluster”). I feel the need to disagree. I stand there all of the time with my gun at my side, laughing at them as they groan in agony and drop like flies around me. I know that sounds a little creepy and I promise I have never set anything bigger than a campfire IRL so I’m not a RL firebug. Maybe I have some sort of DNA memory thing and feel some revenge pleasure for what was done to the supposed magic users back in the late 1600’s to hmm….hee hee. Anyway, I digress (as usual) the people in the forums are pretty nice to each other, so far, but they are still a little annoying. 🙂 I only say that because no one came in and stuck up for the fire. Nu uh, not me.
    • Oh yeah, this is one game where I think our fire does more damage to them than the NPC’s does to us.

Damsels of DDO Episode 111, Masterminds of Sharn, Part 2

The Damsels are three lady gamers who talk about things that are important to them in the world of Dungeons and Dragons Online. The Damsels dove back into Sharn this week! This time, they were hot on the trail of super shady bad guy, Vaunt. Did they catch him? We still don’t know but Lessah and Mythery want to live in that department store. Thanks so much for listening!

Lessah jibberjabbers about things and Myth corrects and Sahba sleeps

      • Secret questing continues with INVADERS! It was so good, I put it on my YouTube channel.

    • What we learned this week:
      • Lessah: I learned that Mythery will go afk as soon as she sees a fire reaver.
      • Myth:
      • Sahba: Comfy chairs are great! One monitor is not enough!

Rumors, News, and Lies

  • Before we start!  Spoiler!!!
    • AP Bio finale was on last night. So, they finished up the season for us. Are we happy about that or did they just rub salt in the open wound? Actually, I’m really confused. It doesn’t look like they ended anything to me. Really this would be a good one for someone else to pick up. It has a lot of fans that are upset that would follow it wherever it went.

Update – I fell down a rabbit hole when I tried to see what was really happening with this show and all I came up with was that NBC seems to be very wishy washy about what and if they are canceling or not. QUOTE “The next season’s schedule is fluid, we want to give those shows a chance to fulfill their run and we’ll take another look at them then,” NBC Co-Chairmen George Cheeks said on NBC’s May 12 upfronts call. “Remember we program 52 weeks a year so there are a lot of slots.” Apparently, for some reason part of their problem at recognizing what they should keep or not has to do with people not watching live. They need to figure that out because I don’t watch anything live.

Reaper Babies in Sharn – The best of both worlds! (part 2)

No Refunds

Two words, Belgrave’s Emporium! Woot! Lessah wants to live there. That place was great and I think there was enough room for us to move in and have no one notice. So many pretty things, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I think we did something in there… oh ya, there was a shopkeeper and he had some sort of book we were supposed to get but he was sloppy and we kept finding pages from it lying around everywhere.

So now we are looking for Evan Greybeard and his date the woman in black. Who is apparently way out of his league in many respects. We are running around in a sleazy neighborhood and out of the blue in the middle of the street Sahba finds this random puzzle running up and down the sides of a couple of buildings and well… we have lost her for the foreseeable future. I’m pretty sure the person that laid out the streets of this place was roaring drunk when they did it but after some dedicated searching and finding ourselves back at Sahba and her puzzle a few times, we managed to locate the woman in black. She’s all, I don’t know where he is and look at me I’m too hot and rich for him. Or something like that. Oh hush Sahba, you weren’t there. So went and found him. Really, these people aren’t all that much help.

So we show up at this fancy temple after talking to ole Evan Greybeard who had given us some dirt on Vaunt. This temple is dedicated to the god of wealth so you can just imagine what it was like. Anyway, the priest wanted to meet us there and as we got there they had just closed to the public for the evening, which seemed a little strange. The sea lions were cute. Mean but cute. We freed the slaves. Amazing, this Vaunt guy had a secret factory, run by slaves, INSIDE the fanciest most gilded temple around. I suppose that’s called hiding in plain sight.

Reach for the Sky

Here’s our chance! Vaunt held a gala in Skyway and rumor had it that he was bringing the Stormreach Beacon with him. I guess he thinks it will protect him and I can’t really blame him, those forgewraths are awful but that beacon is not meant to protect the likes of him. Geeze this guy likes to hear himself talk but after his little presentation was over we were able to roam around the place. This place is BIG and full of guards and forgewraths, yuck! Once we found it we made our way to the roof and hopped an airship back to Stormreach. Now that we have brought the beacon back where it belongs, I’m ready to go back to Sharn. I’m not done looking around and shopping.

    • I think we should build a new bunker from the ground up. We just need to pick a place and a new design. I think I have some ideas to go with yours.

  • Tom Clancy Division 2
    • This is a great game! I loved going to the Air and Space Museum…and shooting all the hot guys.
    • I know where to get the gear dye!!!!!! You’ll never believe, it’s been there all the time. Also, I am very much looking forward to being 30 but I want to make sure I do all of the missions before I hit the World Tier 1, etc because there is no going back from there. All I know is, the last main campaign mission is at the Capitol building.

  • Space Engineers
    • Tae and I have started playing this and the learning curve is pretty steep but I think it’s worth it because we have been having fun! Space pirates and crafting game, heavy on the crafting. Also, we just found out that dangerous environment is a setting, so creatures. We are still learning how to play so we aren’t doing any of that. We can only go about 10km away from our pods before we have to go back and charge up our suits because we selected a Mars like setting.

  • Curious Cases
    • They advertise single player but…. So I went into this game and I’m messing around trying to see how to move and such and actually nothing is working and I’m trying to figure out how to get things set up and the next thing I know fedora’s start popping into existence all around me. I see that there are names over the hats so I know there are people in them. I popped smoke! I plan to Sherlock all by myself thank you very much!

  • Waterbears
    • This game came with I Expect You to Die and it’s super cute and fun but I think it’s for kids. It’s very colorful and has these little bears locked in bubbles (each a different color) and there are pipes with colored water and you have to fit the pipes together so that the right ones flow water to fill up the bubbles and pop them to let the bears out. When you win confetti explodes and rains down on your head. So cute!

Reaper Babies in Sharn – The best of both worlds!

A Sharn Welcome

We traveled to Sharn last week. Why haven’t we been here before? This place is nice. Someone here has taken the Stormreach beacon and we mean to find it. I think we know from past experience that bad things happen when that thing isn’t out where it belongs shining brightly. When we arrived we talked to Summer Korranor, strange little dwarf, and he say that we should find someone named Lucian Vaunt and that Issabet Tremont could help us with that and pointed her out to us. I need the name of her taylor! She has pretty pretty clothes. She asked us to meet her at the top of this building, told us to take the elevator. HA! I think it was supposed to be some kind of boarding house but I never saw any actual bedrooms and the place was falling apart. We ran into a guy who tried to get us to invest some money into the place so maybe he wanted to fix it up. I’m not really sure. They had some ‘elemental’ problems in the laundry room too. We did end up meeting Vaunt briefly but I can’t say he was any help to our cause. Quite the opposite I think, actually. It was quite a welcome though.

Side note – Keith Baker was the Dungeon Master, he was the creator of the Eberron campaign setting and has a really nice voice. Great job Keith!

He is also Dungeon Master in Just Business, the last quest in this chain.

Of course as long as we are here we might as well get involved in some other peoples business so we decided to help with a murder investigation that was happening deep down in the ooey gooey sticky stinky slums of Sharn. Who knew? They hid it so well. We took a skycoach to Cogsgate and met Zeleth Crowspire at her office. Apparently several murders had already taken place and she gave us locations to begin to gather our clues. Dun dun dun can you hear the music? We started in the gambling hall. He looked like he had been poisoned but one of his palms had been slashed which was kind of weird. The next murder took us to an apartment. The body here looked very similar to the first one. Did I mention that this is all in gang territory? There is the Boromar Clan and there are the Daask. Since there seemed to be Daask poison slingers around everywhere and these guys were poisoned things were sort of pointing in the Daask direction. But doesn’t that sound too easy? I mean, wouldn’t it make more sense that the Boromar were setting them up? We met up with Zeleth again to trade info and then took off for the pawn shop. Again the body was very much like the ones before it, as we were leaving the pawn shop we saw Zeleth standing near a gate just ahead of us. This is when she finally decides to tell us that she thinks her brother might know something or have something to do with all of this and of course she doesn’t want to confront him. So of course we talk to him and quite frankly, I think he’s as much of an ass as Vaunt. We end up getting in a fight with him, kick his butt, gather some more clues, and finally figure out that the slashed in the palms of the victims spell out I R K and is the name of the guy who is doing all of this. Pretty cocky if you ask me. His name was Irk. What kind of name is that anyway?

Best Laid Plans

To be perfectly honest, one foray into the slums is quite enough for me. Back in the city where all of the pretty clothes and this-n-thats live, a member of the twelve came up to us. I think he recognized Sahba from Stormreach, although it’s beyond me why he thought she would want to help him. He wanted a copy of Vaunt’s blueprints and wanted us swipe them out of a warehouse for him. Lessah wanted to know why he didn’t do it himself, I just giggled at that, but he said he wouldn’t get anywhere without being recognized. Or something like that. I guess he isn’t the sneaky type. As far as snatch and grabs go I’m going to say this one was pretty easy. The warehouse manager had his own agenda going on, that’s for sure. Actually, it seems like everyone I have met over here has had some sort of hidden agenda of their own and they all have the most interesting names (says Mythery to Lessah and Sahba). Victor Dabonaire is no different. Well, except for one thing. We let him go.

The Same Old Song

Finally, we get to go somewhere that might be fun! We are going to the club, Club Clawfoot that is. I guess we have stuck our noses in so many people’s business that the City Councilor, Savia Potella, found out and decided that it should be up to us to go over to this club that happens to be run by the Boromar and try and talk the manager into breaking ties with Vaunt. This place is kinda swanky and you don’t get in unless you are invited. Fortunately for us we were able to get our names on the list. See, sticking your nose in other people’s business goes both ways. So we did get in and they did check the list but I don’t think they were actually open yet. The singer was on stage just running through some stuff so we went around and checked the place out. There is definitely some shady stuff going on here. We helped out with everything which turned out to be a good idea because they helped us in the end.

Just Business

OK, so the least amount of club type fun ever. After leaving the club we saw Casper Tremont, who is Issabet’s dad, and he says that she is off to meet up with Vaunt and he’s worried about her. None of us blame him one bit for that. So he asks us if we will go keep an eye on her for him. I’m pretty sure I was looking at my feet when I nodded and mumbled something about trying. Lessah is much more confident. The whole thing started with us hovering outside a window on a sky barge spying on Vaunt having a meeting with a gnoll and some others. What happened after that. Well, …..many deaths including (and finally) Irk and poor poor Issabet but not Vaunt. This is not over.

      • Holy catfish matchdotcom! I thought I would never escape reality and get my virtual on! The cameras are in the headset they said. Only 2 plugs they said. SO! First of all, don’t think you’ll be contacting Oculus to tell them this thing arrived damaged and if you do you better be ready with a picture of the truck that ran it over. Mine  came shipped straight from Oculus and they aren’t playing around when it comes to shipping containers. The cardboard on the outside box was a half inch thick with molded foam cradling the black retail box and that thing is really nice too. So unless I just got a lemon, I knew there wasn’t anything wrong with it and it was just me and my lack….no it was them and their lack of instructions on what to do if everything didn’t just work automatically.

OK, I want to say it was worth the wait but seriously I just don’t like to wait! It is a beautiful thing to behold. Everything I hoped for!! It’s splenderful, fascinazing, and delightfully exquizzling. I didn’t have words to describe how I felt so I had to make up my own. I think the controllers will take some getting used to but I don’t have any complaints. Let’s play!

  • The Forgotten Chamber – The Forgotten Chamber is a thrilling experience that comes alive through realistic binaural audio. Explore an ancient emperor’s tomb and discover its secrets, but beware: some secrets are better left forgotten.
