Damsels of DDO Episode 46, Search and Rescue

The Damsels of DDO is a group of girl gamers who talk about things that are important to them in the world of Dungeons and Dragons Online.  This week we went looking for a Jack Jibbers Blade and then went on a Search and Rescue.  They say a good deed is its own reward, but we’ll take the loot!  Thanks so much for listening!

Lessah jibberjabbers about things and Sahba corrects and Myth sleeps [zzzzz]:

    • I have a confession:  I am an idiot.  Ask me what I did this time…

    • Mythery and Lessah, wayward Gnomish adventures.
      • We need a clubhouse for our Gnomes.  It should be really small.  We found a bedroom in the drow optional last night that would work really well.  Blankets that are knitted in the shape of a web and a bed with a cool canopy!  Sign us up!
    • Mythery is level 30 yet?  FLIIIIP!

  • Rumors, News, and Lies
    • First up, a lie – Sahbajade refuses to run the Shroud with Mythery and Lessah…
      • Speaking of pugging, did Lessah pug?
        • Loads of ladies in my pugs.
      • Lessah was on DDOcast
      • Drac is a lying liar who lies:

      • Damsels Poll – is it funny if Lessah sends Sahba halfling slaying arrows?
      • Mythery is cranky.
      • Lessah is 100!

Re-focusing and reducing the studio size was a difficult decision for the company, and we are grateful to all of the Turbine staff for their considerable contributions.” Warner Bros. did not specify how many employees were let go. Turbine was last hit with layoffs in October 2014 as part of “strategic alignment.”
        • Cordovan post: We do appreciate folks’ concerns about the well-being of the team; know that the team has read them.  As with previous business-related decision-making like this, we really can’t comment on personnel changes. We would like to reiterate the part from yesterday’s statement that DDO will continue operating as it is now. We’d add that no changes have been made to our development plans.

          • one funny interaction:
            • People have been saying that for five years, not the last year
            • Yeah, but when it finally does happen, those people are so going to win the internets for finally being right.  *High Five*
          • And “There is a lot of content after 10 years so we can keep playing even if there is no longer any development.”

        • I have issues with this game.  I have gone out walking every day.  I have been social, and spoke to people…even strangers.  I have done this all for free.  I am motivated to go out in the nature and it improves my mental health.  WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!

Two Toed Tobias  – Legend Revisited

I’m not talking about this quest or explaining it. I’m sure I did that already in a past episode. If you haven’t heard it I think you should do that right after you finish listening to this one. I’ll even do you a favor and not say which one it is so you can have the joy of going through all of them to find it. We only went there for one thing!

Loot –

The Cursed Blade of Jack Jibbers

Death isn’t always the end.

Once per rest, and while dead, use this item to raise yourself as a Cursed Wraith, gaining Undead traits. After one minute, death will reclaim you.

Search and Rescue

This little girl runs up to us and she’s all freaked out. She starts talking about how she and her friends were checking out a tomb and her friends got lost. I was about to ask her where her mommy was when I realized she wasn’t a little girl at all, she was a gnome. We told her we would go look for her friends and jumped on a wagon headed towards the tomb. We were lucky one was going in that direction!

It was a very nice tomb, pretty big and lit by these fancy orbs along the sides. Which of course we couldn’t resist smashing. Two of the orbs (one at each end) were different and had a little knob to turn on them. When we turned them a hidden door in the center opened. This tomb was a lot larger than we thought. As we made our way through the place there were lots of skeletons, wheeps, and even quels to deal with. If we thought that was to be the worst of it we had another think coming to us. Lessah was going a little ahead of us, using the face finding method to locate the traps for us. We had cleared the first two sections of the tomb and were headed for what kind of looked like a throne room when we heard “help help….umm guys, get in here”. Sahba and I reached the end of the hall only to find a barrier in front of us with Lessah on the other side. Sahba managed to attract the attention of most of the bad guys, bringing them up to the barrier and away from Lessah, while I figured out a way to get in there. This little process happened at least two more times while we were in there. And big is an understatement! This tomb leads to a palace of sorts and from what I hear, one of those paths we were wandering around on leads out into the underdark. I didn’t see it but I think we were near it because we had a fight which ended with us having a locked chest that I couldn’t knock and supposedly there is a locked chest near the underdark exit. And there were many more things besides undead to kill in there. There were slaad of all colors, driders, harpies, scorpions, mephits, bats, umberhulks, lizards, and even kobolds! Amazing and so much fun! Oh, and we did find the lost people.

Loot – These items all have Heroic versions

Drow Priestess right chest

Red Dragon end chest

Epic swim in the lava!  Was so scared, it was like being in ice!
