Damsels of DDO Episode 26, Druid’s Deeper

The Damsels of DDO are a group of girl gamers who talk about things that are important to them in the world of Dungeons and Dragons Online.  This week we went back into druid territory and delved deeper into the woods.  What did we find?  Bears of course!  As it turns out, the things they do in the woods are pretty mundane compared to all the corruption going on with nature out there!  Thanks so much for listening!

Finished up Druid’s Deep

Thorn and Paw

We were asked to go to Thorngap and find a druid named Halsaime. Apparently he is the most famous druid in these parts and he is missing. The Harpers say he is tied to a mysterious primal corruption and to a missing Cormyrean noble. So we hopped on an ox cart and rode out to Thorngap.

When we got there the first thing I noticed was that there were dire bears held in some sort of natural cages that had to have been sealed by magic. Most of them seemed to be sleeping and didn’t even notice us. What did notice us were a great number of Vine Horrors, wolves, and some very evil nasty druids. As we got deeper in we found that this evil seemed to emanate from a node in the center of a clearing. Lessah went over to it and started beating on it until it burst and appeared to have died. That was when we realized that the dire bears that had been neatly tucked into their dirt and grass cages were no longer sleeping and no longer magically sealed in.

We continued making our way in, killing angry bears as we went, and then more vine horrors and wolves and evil druids until we came to another clearing with another node pulsating with evil. Lessah went and made quick work of it and of course we had another several groups of angry dire bears to deal with. At the edge of the glen we did find a druid but it was not Halsaime and this poor guy was severely injured and could hardly speak to us. Oh yeah, the whole time we were in there Sahbajade was picking up some weird glowing seeds. I don’t know what she did with them but I hope she doesn’t have them anymore.

The Druid’s Curse

When we got back from Thorngap and told the harpers that we didn’t find Halsaime they sent us right back. This time we were to search for him in a place called Druids Deep, the location of which is a big fat secret. And the only directions we got were “Be a fish, then a wolf, then a bear” and that it’s someplace near Thorngap. So off we went on the stinky ox cart again.

This place is hidden really well! Sahba bounced around being a wolf, I channeled my inner fish (who knew I had one), and Lessah reared up, growled a lot and did a good job being a bear. It was a long way to go but we found it!! We also found him. This guy might be the most famous druid around here but he was a lost cause and now he is just a memory of the most famous druid in Thorngap. Unfortunately so is the Cormyrean noble he probably kidnapped and who now stands like a statue in the middle of Druid’s Deep.
